Review from the Born Free Foundation: A sell-out audience attended the Wilfrid Noyce Community Centre for Mark Lee Davies’ evening of dance, yoga and theatre. Professionally choreographed and costumed, the mesmerising performance was perfectly complemented by a poignant voice-over.

With a unique mix of contemporary dance and yoga, Mark and his talented performers wove a heartrending and thought-provoking story of animal exploitation. Introducing Mother Nature and her five gods, the show highlighted the plight of wild animals and some of the threats they face such as trophy hunting, misuse for entertainment, and the trade in wild pets. But the evening was ultimately uplifting, as Mark explains, “Change is always possible, it starts with one, it starts with you.”

The event was attended by special guests Penny Rivers, Mayor of Godalming, and Born Free’s President and Co-Founder Will Travers OBE. “Performing with compelling conviction, the skilful and expressive company were a credit to Mark Lee Davies’ artistry and imagination,” said Will. “Born Free is so very grateful to Mark for his dedication and long-term support.”

With a charity raffle, Born Free merchandise, light refreshments and mocktails served by Mint Cakery UK, the evening raised nearly £2,000. Thank you Mark for all you do to help Born Free help the animals!
